Our Story

We are the people who…identify, catalogue, digitize, and preserve astrological and related research, writing, recordings, and videos to provide continued availability of this important research & knowledge for the education of current & future generations.

In The Beginning

On a beautiful afternoon in 2015, in Philadelphia, Georgia Stathis and Christeen Skinner agreed to collaborate on a project to protect and preserve material of interest to astrologers.

“At the time, we were acutely aware that many of our age group was passing on and that there was no existing good option for preserving private libraries. We knew the idea for an online publicly available archive would appeal to our colleagues on the board of the Urania Trust and with a grant from them plus other generous donations, the AIP project was born.”

The Alexandria iBase Project (AIP) gained legal status in October 2015.

Our Community

Our enthusiasm has been matched by others – most notably by Anne Beversdorf, our librarian, now

looking after cataloguing with Anna Grzeszkiewicz (Anna G) and Enid Newberg from Kepler College who’s administrative and technical talents are hugely appreciated.

Further input through the years came from Patty Lance Little, Alexander White, Tamara McGillivray, Babs Kirby, Sheri Horn Hassan, Debra Wilson  and Demetrius Bagley and so many more people. This goodwill together with growing connections with the American Federation of Astrologers and the Astrological Association of Great Britain has resulted in a growing catalogue some of which are available for free download. Other astrological networks have provided backing and support. ISAR, Mountain Astrologer, and the many families of astrologers who want to know where their loved ones’ research and writings will go.

There is much – much, more work for us to do. We are grateful for the offers of support received at the various conferences and can assure you that if we haven’t followed up in contacting you yet, that is only because we are trying to work out the best way of using your talents and skills.
